Question: What is the difference between Quad shielded and standard shielded?

Answer: Shielding protects the signal in the cable from electromagnetic and radio frequency interferance. Standard shielded cables will have a double shield which consists of an aluminum foil layer and a braided wire layer. Quad shielded cables will have two foil layers and two braided layers. Additionally, the inner insulator, the dielectric, will be thinner on the quad shielded cables to accomodate the additional layers of shielding.
