Question: Why do I need this converter? Why can''t I just use an adapter to connect A/V to VGA?
Answer: VGA signals are in an RGBHV (Red, Green, Blue, Horizontal Sync & Vertical Sync) format, composite is a single combined signal and S-video is a Y, Cr. The problem is they each carry element of the video signal in different ways and though all the elements are in all formats of video signals, you can not always combine and separate those signal with an adapter. Going from VGA to A/V signals requires a chip to process the signal from one format to another.
To give an analogy, some things like juices can be thrown into a blender and blended to create a new drink. Other things like parts to a motor, if thrown into a blender, will destroy the blender.
Question: If I connect a display to each of the outputs, can I have up to 3 displays running simultaneously with the same image?
Answer: Yes.
Question: I''ve connected this device to a High Definition TV, why can''t I get a HD picture?
Answer: This device uses a composite (or s-video) video connection which is limited to a resolution of 480i. So even though your television may be capable of higher resolutions, you will not be able to transmit a higher level signal through this device.
