These earphones feature an inline active noise reduction (ANR) module, which helps eliminate up to 99% of external noise. The ANR module is powered by a single AAA alkaline battery (included), which can provide up to 50 hours of active noise reduction. Note that use of the ANR function is optional; the earphones can be used without installing a battery or powering on the ANR module. When used without the ANR function, these earphone provide up to 22dB passive noise reduction.

The earphones employ 9mm neodymium magnets and an impedance of 32 ohms. They have a frequency response of 20Hz ~ 20KHz, with less than 1% total harmonic distortion (94dB SPL @ 1KHz).

A second inline module functions as an inline control for the music player. You can control the volume, pause/resume playback, and skip tracks forward or backward on Apple iPod and iPhone devices, while Android devices are limited to the pause/resume playback function. The inline control is also used to answer and drop incoming phone calls with a single press of the center button on the inline control module, for both Apple and Android devices.

The earphones come with a dual stereo adapter plug, for use on commercial airline flights, and a single plug stereo, for adapting the TRRS plug to a standard stereo TRS plug for use with non-Apple devices.
