Note: Monoprice strongly recommends the use of minimum 24 AWG HDMI® cables when connecting a device, such as this extender, between the source and destination devices to ensure minimal signal loss and maximum High Speed signal reliability.
Note: Although this extender will work with Cat5e UTP cables, Monoprice STRONGLY recommends using Cat6 STP cabling for anything longer than minimal distances. Cat6 STP cabling will provide the highest reliability and signal integrity to ensure that your installation is trouble-free under all conditions for years to come.

Question: The picture passing through the extender is constantly flickering or on occasion getting video and audio cutout, what can I do?
Answer: We would recommend to try to run the setup outside the wall just to test. A electrical wire or video cable if inside the wall can cause interference causing flickering or video and audio signal loss. Try rerouting cable paths and distancing devices from sources of interference, such as moving the electrical and other cables away from cables in wall.
Also please test another source device with the extender if using a DVD player try a cable box for example and to also try a different video resolution if trying 1080p try 720 just to test the connectivity.
Question: The IR signal is not transmitting from wall plate to wall plate, what troubleshooting steps should I try?
Answer: Please make sure the IR sensor is in front of the device being controlled to be able to pick up the signal and send back. Make sure all lights on the wall plate are on and active to be sure the wall plate is working properly.
